The Nanton District Assembly welcomed a monitoring team from the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) on Monday, 13th July 2026, as part of the Council’s routine monitoring exercise to assess the progress of the implementation of the 2026 Performance Contract.
The monitoring visit formed part of ongoing efforts to ensure that Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) are effectively implementing their performance targets and delivering quality public services in line with national development objectives.
The RCC team engaged management and staff of the Assembly to review the status of key performance indicators, assess compliance with agreed targets, and provide guidance on areas requiring further improvement. Discussions also focused on achievements made so far, challenges encountered during implementation, and strategies for sustaining progress throughout the assessment period.
In preparation for the exercise, all staff of the Nanton District Assembly availed themselves to participate in the monitoring session, demonstrating the Assembly’s commitment to accountability, teamwork, and continuous institutional improvement. Their active participation enabled the monitoring team to interact with the various departments and obtain first-hand information on the implementation of departmental activities under the Performance Contract.
The Assembly expressed its appreciation to the RCC monitoring team for the constructive engagement and valuable recommendations provided during the exercise. Management reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the team’s recommendations and strengthening service delivery for the benefit of the people of the Nanton District.
