The Nanton District Assembly, through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, successfully organized an onboarding and sensitization exercise for beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme at Nanton Kurugu.
The exercise was aimed at orienting newly enrolled beneficiaries and enhancing their understanding of the LEAP Paycode System, which has been introduced to facilitate secure, efficient, and convenient payment of LEAP grants.
During the session, the Head of Department (HOD) engaged beneficiaries on how the Paycode system operates, explaining the steps involved in accessing their grants and highlighting the importance of safeguarding their payment details. Beneficiaries were also educated on the procedures for redeeming their payments through authorized payment agents and encouraged to seek assistance whenever they encounter challenges during the payment process.
The interactive engagement provided beneficiaries with the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical demonstrations on the use of the Paycode system. The HOD emphasized that the digital payment system is designed to improve transparency, reduce delays, and ensure that beneficiaries receive their grants in a safe and reliable manner.
The sensitization also reminded beneficiaries of their responsibilities under the LEAP Programme and encouraged them to make prudent use of the financial support to improve household welfare, support children’s education, and access essential healthcare services.
The Nanton District Assembly remains committed to supporting the successful implementation of the LEAP Programme by ensuring that beneficiaries are well-informed and equipped to access government social protection interventions with confidence.
