The District witnessed a significant administrative milestone as the newly appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) officially assumed office yesterday 6th May 2025. In a ceremony that marked both a fresh start and a moment of continuity, all Heads of Department (HoDs) were present to welcome the new DCE into office, in accordance with prior notice issued on Monday 5th May 2025.

The brief but symbolic event began with the formal handing over of notes from the outgoing DCE, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities and an overview of ongoing district initiatives. The handing over process highlighted achievements, pending projects, and key administrative insights critical to maintaining momentum in the District’s development efforts.

The presence of local journalists added a touch of prominence to the occasion. Their cameras and notepads captured the first official moments of the new DCE’s leadership journey. This media presence ensured the public was informed and engaged, reinforcing the value of transparency and community involvement in local governance.

Heads of Department expressed optimism about the future, pledging their support and collaboration to help the new DCE succeed in delivering on her mandate. The incoming DCE also shared a few words of gratitude and assurance, emphasizing her commitment to inclusive leadership, development, and effective service delivery.

The day’s activities concluded with informal interactions among department leaders and the new DCE—an encouraging sign of teamwork and open communication that will be vital in the days ahead.

As the District steps into a new chapter, expectations are high and the foundation has been laid for productive and people-centered governance.
