On Tuesday, 29th April 2025, the Nanton District Assembly hosted a special meeting at the Nanton District Court to confirm the President’s nominee for District Chief Executive (DCE). The event brought together government officials, dignitaries, and members of the community in a well-organized ceremony that emphasized both civic duty and inclusive governance.

The program began with an opening prayer, followed by a roll call and introduction of dignitaries. The Presiding Member delivered welcome remarks, setting the tone for a significant day in the district’s political calendar.

A key highlight of the day was the swearing-in of nine Government Appointees, which notably included one female appointee and one Person With Disability (PWD). This move signals a commendable step toward inclusivity and representation within the district’s governance framework.

Remarks were delivered by the Hon. Member of Parliament for Nanton Constituency and the Hon. Regional Minister, both of whom commended the President’s nominee and encouraged the Assembly Members to support the development agenda of the district.

Following these remarks, the Assembly moved to the formal approval of the Hon. District Chief Executive nominee, after which the newly confirmed DCE delivered acceptance remarks, expressing gratitude and commitment to serving the people of Nanton with integrity and vision.

The Presiding Member concluded the session with closing remarks, after which the meeting was adjourned and ended with a closing prayer.

The day marked a turning point for the Nanton District, reflecting not only a democratic process but also a commitment to inclusivity and community development. As the new leadership assumes office, hopes are high for continued progress and unity in governance.
