The Nanton District Planning Coordinating Unit (DPCU) has held its coordination meeting at the Nanton District Conference Hall to review departmental activities and deliberate on issues relevant to the development and effective administration of the District.
The meeting commenced at 12:43 p.m. and brought together representatives from various departments and institutions within the District.
DEPARTMENTAL BRIEFINGS
The meeting followed a structured agenda, which began with an opening prayer, followed by self-introduction and the chairman’s welcome remarks.
This was followed by departmental briefings, during which representatives provided updates on the activities, programs, challenges, and other matters relating to their respective departments and institutions.
The departments and institutions scheduled to provide briefings included

- Education
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO)
- Department of Agriculture
- Department of Health
- Budget Unit
- Department of Social Welfare and Community Development (DSWCD)
- Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit
- Business Advisory Centre (BAC)
- Physical Planning
- National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA)
- District Works Department
The departmental presentations provided an opportunity for members of the DPCU to share updates, identify areas requiring attention, and strengthen coordination among the various departments and agencies operating within the district.
ABSENCE OF SOME DEPARTMENTAL REPRESENTATIVES
Representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and Department of Health were unable to attend the meeting.
Their absence was duly noted, while the meeting proceeded with the scheduled deliberations and presentations from the departments and institutions represented.
CLOSING
The meeting concluded with Any Other Business (AOB), followed by the Chairman’s Closing Remarks and a Closing Prayer.
The DPCU meeting forms part of the District Assembly’s continuous efforts to strengthen interdepartmental coordination, monitor development activities, address emerging challenges, and promote effective planning and implementation of development programs within the Nanton District.
