The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development conducted sensitization on the upcoming Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) reassessment exercise in 18 beneficiary communities within the Nanton District.
The sensitization exercise was aimed at informing community members, opinion leaders, and existing beneficiaries about the purpose of the reassessment, which is to update household information, ensure transparency, and identify those who continue to qualify for the programme as well as households that may have recently fallen into vulnerability.
Community members across all 18 communities actively participated in the sessions and were encouraged to provide accurate information during the reassessment process. The exercise was well-received, with participants expressing their readiness to cooperate fully to ensure the successful implementation of the LEAP programme in the district.
